Performing Hajj for two deceased Parents
Question:

Should I perform Hajj for my two parents who died without performing the obligation of Hajj due to their poverty. I would like to perform Hajj for them, so what is the ruling regarding that?
Answer:

It is permissible for you to perform Hajj for your two parents yourself or you may appoint someone to perform Hajj for them if you have performed Hajj for yourself or the person who performs it for them has already performed Hajj for himself. This is due to what Abu Dawud recorded in his Sunan from Abdullah bin Abbas- may Allah be pleased with him- that the Prophet - Sallallahu alaihi wasallam - heard a man saying : Labbayk ( I am here at your service) for Shubrumah. The Prophet - Sallallahu alaihi wasallam - said: Who is Shubrumah? The man said: He is a brother of mine, or he said: He is a relative of mine. The Prophet - Sallallahu alaihi wasallam - said: Have you performed Hajj for yourself? The man said: No. The Prophet ý Sallallahu alaihi wasallam- then said: Perform Hajj for yourself, then perform Hajj for Shubrumah. [1] Ibn Majah recorded this and Al- Bayhaqi said: This chain of narrations is authentic, and there is nothing more authentic than this concerning this subject.
