The ruling on cutting the hair of the deceased
Question:

Is it permissible to cut any of the hair of the deceased?
Answer:

There is no harm in cutting the hair of the moustache of the deceased if it is long. Likewise the hair of the armpits may be cut. However, it is not permissible to cut the pubic hair after death that are around the private parts. This is because it is not permissible to touch the private parts of a man or woman. Concerning the hair of the head of the man, it should be combed, and the hair of the woman should be braided in three plaits and placed behind her. Nothing of it (the hair on the head) should be cut. Rather, it should be left as it is.
