Reciting in a raised voice in the masjid
Question:

Is the recitation of surah YaaSin (the 36th surah) with a raised voice in the masjid permissible or not?
Answer:

It is not permissible for anyone that he raise his voice with the recitation of the Quraan in the masjid, not with surah YaaSin nor with other than that from the Quraan, not in the prayer nor in other than that.

(This is) due to what is established from the Prophet sal Allaahu alaiyhi wa sallam that he went out upon the people, and they were praying and reciting out aloud. So he said:

‘O people! Each one of you is speaking in private to his Lord so let not some of you speak loudly over others in recitation.’

And because in this is disturbance and harming from some of them upon the others.

And with Allaah is the tawfeeq. And may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, Muhammad and upon his family and Companions.
