The ruling concerning the 'zaghrata' (noise women make at celebrations using the tongue)
|
Question:
What is the ruling concerning the zaghrata which is a noise (collectively) made by women (using the tongue) at marriage celebrations. Benefit us may Allah reward you
|
Answer:
It is not permissible for women to raise their voices in the presence of men not by way of the 'zaghrata' or anything else (for that matter) for indeed the womans voice is a fitna (trial).
Additionally the 'zaghrata' isnt know with many of the Muslims of the past or the present. Thus it is an evil custom that should be left, as it is also an indication of (a woman having) little shame.
