Praying whilst wearing a thawb which does not conceal that which is under it
Question:

Is it permissible for a Muslim to pray whilst he is wearing a thawb which reveals what is under it?
Answer:

The awrah (part of the body which must be covered) of a man in the prayer is that which is between the navel and the knee; so whoever prays and he is exposing something from it (the awrah) must repeat the prayer.

And likewise this is the ruling upon the one who wears a thin item of clothing, such that the skin can be seen from behind – and the person prays (in this condition) – so repeating the prayer is obligatory upon him.

And with Allaah is the tawfeeq. And may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
