Giving Children Monetary Gifts on Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha
Question:

We have young children, and it is the custom in our country to give them on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr or Al-Adha - something called 'Eidiyah': a small amount of money by way of making them happy and joyful. Is this Eid money a bid'ah (religious innovation) or is it alright to give it? Benefit us, may Allah benefit you.
Answer:

There is no harm in this, rather it is a good custom: making a Muslim happy - young or old is something encouraged by the pure Islamic teachings.

From Allah is all success, and may the praise and peace of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his Family and his Companions.
