The Athan for Prayer in the Workplace
Question:

If we are in the workplace and it is only a short distance to the mosque, we may call the Athan in our workplace?
Answer:

It is obligatory for you to pray in the mosque in congregation, as the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Whoever heard the call (to prayer) and did not answer it, there is no prayer for him, unless he has an excuse (illness etc.). [1] But if you are truly prevented from it, then it is lawful for you to call the Athan and Iqamah where you are, based on the legal evidences for that
